What’s my Design Process?
In Problems in Graphic Design, we’ve been discussing Design Thinking. I wanted to record what I THINK my process is, what I WISH I could be doing more of during the process, and what I’m REALLY doing.
Current Process (According to my mind)
- Research - Gathering sources and images. Then, analyzing them
- Sketching out ideas and/or Setting Parameters
- Sketching out ideas in programs on computer
- Using templates when necessary
- Refining ideas
- Production
The Process I Wish I Was Doing
- Being able to research without a computer or search engine
- Organizing my thoughts more efficiently
- Not getting attached to one specific idea
- Not spending so much time in one program
- Using my hands more to design and not my mouse
- SKETCHING MORE
- STOP COMPARING AND JUST MAKE
What I’m Really Doing (Due To Poor Time Management)
- Collecting data that may not pertain to project and writing/analyzing it more than I should
- Looking at sources or trends rather than developing my own concepts
- Creating simple forms
